2012/2013 Season Update
Another year has come and gone bringing the 12/13 Ski and Ride Season to a start here in Michigan.
Mother nature has been a wild woman this preseason; Warm front, cold fronts, snow, rain, ice mix etc...
But our world class snow making and grooming crew has done a stellar job getting our slopes packed full of snow and ready for another great season of skiing and riding.
Snow making is a tough job, definitely not for the faint of heart.
These guys put their all in to producing the Mid-West's best snow, often times, in high winds and freezing cold temperatures; Hats off to our dedicated crew!
One of the perks of working such a physically demanding job is the scenery :)
After the snow begins to pile up, it's up to our grooming fleet to push out the piles and get the slopes looking pretty!
The 2012/2013 season is well underway here at Nub's, and we are looking forward to spending ours, with you!

2012 is a big year for the terrain parks at Nub's.
With the addition of our new handle tow serviced Jib Yard Park, and the reintroduction of large jumps to the Main Line Park, things have been going off!
Enjoy these images!

The WHOOPPEE's are a great group of people!
Founded by Reb and Wyleen Stacey, this group of Kentucky/Ohio natives have been making yearly trip up north to ski Nub's since the 1977/78 season.
General Manager Jim Bartlett had this to say about the group;
"The coolest thing about these guys is their focus on families and fun. They've introduced literally hundreds of folks from southern Ohio and Kentucky to skiing in northern Michigan."

It has been an unusual winter to say the least!
Mother Nature has been providing a roller coaster of weather since November 2011.
Now nearing the end of February, with little to no snow in your
backyards, it is reasonable to say she is having a hard time making up her mind!
NO WORRIES
Nub's has you covered!
We're skiing on base depths up to 52" on 100% of our trails and runs.

Our award winning Terrain Parks are up and running!
In 2011 the readers of Transworld Snowboarding Magazine voted for their favorite Terrain Parks in the nation. The Terrain Parks at Nub's Nob held up to the test coming away with 3 awards; #1 park in Michigan, #3 park in the mid-west and #1 vibe in the entire country (ranking us ahead of resorts like Big Bear, Mammoth Mountain, Park City and more).
Our snow making teams and terrain park crew stepped up to the challenges of a bad snow year to open one of the most progressive parks in Michigan, weeks ahead of the competition.

Holiday Recap
The 2011/2012 holidays have come and gone and we'd like to thank all of you for making it a very special one. Despite a warm early winter and little to no natural snow fall, our world class snowmaking crew pulled through, providing first class conditions with more runs and lifts open then any other Michigan ski area.
Below is a bit of
a review of all that went down over the holiday season!
A great turnout of excited New Years Eve skiers and riders Wait anxiously for the torchlight parade to begin!
Ski patrollers and Ski School instructors make their way up the green lift for their first descent down Smokey!
The holiday season also saw the unveiling of the new Rail Yard Terrain Park at Nub's Nob. Serviced by a Tbar handle tow park enthusiasts can take hot laps with their friends in just about a minute top to bottom.
The area was packed with holiday skiers and riders, but our chairlift operators kept lift lines under a 5 minute wait!
We've said it before and we'll say it again, the proof is in the parking lot!
Word spread quickly about the fantastic conditions and our lots were filled to the brim!
We hope that you and yours had a wonderful holiday season!
